Abstract

Medical simulation plays a pivotal role in education by providing students and clinicians a platform for hands-on practice in a safe, controlled, and repeatable environment. Infectious diseases involve diverse pathogens, leading to distinct clinical diagnosis and treatment and disease and management compared to other conditions. Traditional teaching methods in this area face several challenges; however, high-fidelity simulators allow learners to practice in a risk-free environment with real-time feedback and multidimensional interaction, enhancing the integration of theory and practice. With the deepening of the understanding of infectious diseases, the application of high-fidelity simulators in teaching will continue to expand. This article reviews the role and value of high-fidelity simulators in clinical education for infectious diseases, aiming to support medical educators in effectively leveraging this tool to cultivate highly skilled clinicians.
