Ideological and political education in experimental teaching of pathogenic biology and immunology

Abstract

The comprehensive implementation of ideological and political curriculum education is not only an important measure to carry out moral education and to nurture students, but also a key way to improve the quality of medical personnel training. In order to complete the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Basic Medicine in Capital Medical University takes the laboratory course of pathogenic biology and immunology as the carrier, combines the characteristics of discipline practice, excavates ideological and political education materials, integrates ideological and political curriculum elements in experimental teaching, and implements the teaching concept of knowledge as the base, ability as the priority, and value as the soul. Medical students should be guided to establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values, strengthen occupational mission and professional identity, enhance professional skills and occupational quality, and stimulate learning enthusiasm and innovation consciousness. Meanwhile, ideological and political education could improve students' cultural literacy and patriotic enthusiasm. The synergistic effect between ideological and political education and professional experimental teaching is the basic guarantee to achieve the goal of all-round education.
