Abstract

Objective To investigate whether the mobile management platform based on WeChat mini-program can improve the outcome and compliance of patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) receiving continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP) treatment. Methods A total of 68 patients who were diagnosed with moderate to severe OSAHS and received CPAP treatment in Chongqing General Hospital from June to December 2022 were enrolled as subjects and were divided into WeChat mini-program management group with 36 patients and traditional outpatient follow-up group with 32 patients. The patients were assessed in terms of the efficacy of CPAP treatment, compliance with CPAP treatment, adverse reactions of CPAP treatment, and subjective sleep quality at 3 and 6 months. Results Compared with the traditional outpatient follow-up group, the WeChat mini-program management group had significantly lower apnea-hypopnea index(AHI) and Epworth Somnolence Scale(ESS) score at 3 months after treatment(P<0.05),while there were no significant differences in AHI and ESS score between the two groups at 6 months after treatment(P>0.05). Compared with the traditional outpatient follow-up group, the WeChat mini-program management group had a significantly longer time of using CPAP per night and a significantly higher number of days of using CPAP per month at 3 and 6 months after treatment(P<0.05). Conclusion The OSAHS mobile management platform based on WeChat mini-program can effectively improve the treatment compliance and short-term outcome of patients with OSAHS receiving CPAP treatment.
