Objectives The epidemiological characteristics of the major epidemic diseases in commercial pigs in Jingmen region, Hubei province from 2019 to 2023 were investigated and analyzed to provide a scientific basis for formulating measures for the prevention and control of epidemic diseases. Methods A combination of retrospective surveys and prospective monitoring methods was used to collect data on the occurrence of major epidemic diseases including porcine circovirus disease, porcine epidemic diarrhea and porcine infectious pleuropneumonia in commercial pigs in the Jingmen region, Hubei province from 2019 to 2023. Descriptive epidemiological analysis was used to examine the temporal distribution, spatial distribution, and the characteristics of host for epidemics. Statistical methods were used to identify the relationship between different factors and the occurrence of diseases. Results The total positive rate of epidemics in commercial pig in Jingmen region was 8.28%. Among them, the positive rate for porcine circovirus disease and porcine epidemic diarrhea was relatively high, at 48.23% and 13.58%, respectively. The total qualified rate of antibody testing was 91.20%. Conclusions Strengthening measures for biosafety, improving the management of farming, and implementing the monitoring of epidemics are key to controlling and preventing epidemic diseases.
