Objectives The situation of supervising quality of feed at grassroot level was further investigated. The existing problems were analyzed and methods and measures were proposed to solve the problems to promote the high-quality development of feed industry and ecological livestock (fishery) industry at grassroot level. Methods Anshun City, Guizhou Province was selected to study the implementation of supervising the quality and safety of feed at the grassroots level based on the authors' experience of engaging in supervising the quality of feed in recent years. Results The feed production in Anshun City has certain advantages of geography in recent years and has been favored by enterprises from other regions, who have settled in one after another. However, there are many problems including a large number of enterprises in production and operation, complex types of products and brands, insufficient emphasis on the management of enterprises, and weakened supervision by regulatory authorities. Conclusions It is necessary to start by strengthening the supervision of production, operation, and use, establishing institutional mechanisms, improving the team of supervision and monitoring, emphasizing the combination of publicity and guidance with legal supervision, severely cracking down on illegal and criminal activities related to the quality and safety of feed, strengthening the supervision of feed quality at grassroot level, and ensuring the safety of the people on their tongues.
