Analyzing the pathology and immunological antibody detection of Peste des petits ruminants in Lincang City, Yunnan Province, 2021—2023
Objectives To comprehensively grasp the immune effect of small ruminant plague in Lincang City and scientifically evaluate its infection status. Methods 4 524 serum samples and 1 000 eye and nose cotton swabs of sheep from large-scale farms and free-range households were randomly collected from 2021 to 2023. Blocking ELISA method was used to detect antibodies against Peste des petits ruminants (PPR). The fluorescence RT-PCR of viral nucleic acid was used to detect the pathogen of PPR. Results The qualification rate of immune antibodies against PPR in 2022 was 7.44 percentage points higher than that in 2021, and that in 2023 was 3.11 percentage points higher than that in 2022. No positive samples of PPR virus nucleic acid were detected with pathology. Conclusions Lincang City has focused on various measures of prevention and control including 'prevention human from infecting animal diseases, and moving the keypoints forward', and the immune effect of small ruminant plague is good in general.
