A teaching model integrating on-site teaching with case studies in the course of Veterinary Internal Science

Abstract

Objectives In order to promote the reform of teaching Veterinary Internal Science and educate application-type talents in veterinary. Methods The reform paths of teaching suitable for educating talents in veterinary internal medicine were explored by visiting universities and enterprises, combining the situation of teaching for undergraduates and adopting a teaching model integrating the on-site teaching with case studies. Results The existing system of teaching in Veterinary Internal Science was enriched and a teaching model with characteristics of major course was formed with paths including teaching design, screening and use of case, and improvement of on-site teaching. Conclusions On-site teaching and case studies as the main methods to train the dialectical thinking ability of students can ensure the quality of teaching in undergraduates and stimulate their learning potential. This method will be conducive to educate application-type talents in veterinary.
