Monitoring air environment in pig houses during the storage cycle of manure water under leaky floors
Objectives The air environment in pig house during the storage cycle of manure water under leaky floor was monitored to provide reference for the healthy growth and production of pigs. Methods One pig delivery house was selected to determine the air environment index of pig house during the storage cycle of manure water (21 d). 5 measuring points evenly along the diagonal direction of the pig house were selected. The manure water was measured every 3 days during the storage cycle, with measurements taken at 6:00, 11:00, 13:00, and 18:00 each time. Results The average temperature, relative humidity, the concentration of ammonia, and the concentration of carbon dioxide was (26.08±1.45) ℃, (93.44±3.96)%,(3.58±1.62) mg/m3, and (1 760.63±284.98) mg/m3 during the storage cycle of manure water in pig house. The temperature, relative humidity, and the concentration of carbon dioxide on the 18th day was the highest, and all indicators were significantly different from those of other measurement times(P<0.05). The concentration of ammonia on the 21st day was the highest, significantly different from that on the 3rd and 6th day(P<0.05). Conclusions During the storage cycle of manure water under the leaky floors, the temperature was slightly higher, the relative humidity was too high, the concentration of ammonia continued to increase but did not exceed the standard, and the concentration of carbon dioxide was higher. Ventilation equipment should be added to improve the air environment in the pig house.
