Progress on the utilization of fermented feeds from agricultural by-products in animal breeding
Objectives To provide a theoretical basis for the feed utilization of agricultural by-product resources in animal production. Methods The advantages of fermented feeds from agricultural by-products were briefly described and the utilization of fermented feeds from agricultural by-products in animal production was summarized based on reviewing relevant literature. Results The utilization of microbial fermentation of agricultural by-products can not only reduce toxins and anti-nutritional factors in agricultural by-products, and improve their palatability, but also promote the digestion and absorption of nutrients by livestock and poultry in agricultural by-products. Conclusions Microbial fermentation technology can promote the utilization of fermented feeds from agricultural by-products and provide strong support for the stable development of animal husbandry.
