Numerical Simulation of Mold Filling Process in RTM Process of Deformed Structural Composites
Based on the resin transfer molding (RTM) process of composite plate model, the paper takes the RTM process of a special hollow structure composite component as the research object, and uses the porous media seepage module of ABAQUS finite element simulation software to simulate the choice of pouring gate, injection pressure and the flow process of resin in the RTM mold filling process. Therefore, the process parameters of RTM filling process of this model are optimized. The results show that when the injection pressure of 0.3 MPa is used, the shortest injection time of three pours, two pours and single pours is 1 120, 1 640, 2 820 s, respectively. With the increase of injection pressure, the time required to fill the mold is shortened, and finally the critical pressure value is about 0.6 MPa. The influence of injection pressure on the filling time is no longer obvious when the critical injection pressure is exceeded. Therefore, the optimum process of RTM resin filling process of the special-shaped structural composites is simultaneous injection through three injection holes, and the injection pressure is 0.6 MPa.
