Abstract

PA66/GF/CF ternary composites, which were filled with short carbon fiber (CF) and short glass fiber (CF), with polyadiohexylenediamine (PA66) as the matrix, were prepared using the mass fraction of the filler as the influencing factor and the water absorption rate, hardness, compressive strength and tribological performance of the composites as the evaluation indicators. The results show that the mass fraction of fillers has a significant impact on the water absorption of PA66 composites, which decreases with the increase of CF mass fraction, and does not show a single trend with the change of GF mass fraction. The overall hardness of PA66 composites increases with the increase of GF mass fraction, while it shows a slow decrease followed by a rapid increase with the increase of CF mass fraction. The skeleton-like structure of the fibers in the system makes its load-bearing capacity larger, resulting in an increase in compressive strength with the increase of filler mass fraction. Tribological tests show that, taking the water absorption, hardness and compression strength into account, the PA66 composites with excellent performance is GF20CF15, which means that the GF filling mass fraction is 20%, the CF filling mass fraction is 15%, and the PA66 mass fraction is 65%.
