Abstract

Using plasticizers to modify polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), modified PVA was used as the doping phase to prepare polyvinyl chloride/polyvinyl alcohol (PVC/PVA) composite films. The influence of PVA dosage on the hydrophilicity, mechanical properties, moisture permeability, and insulation properties of PVC/PVA composite films was analyzed. The results show that adding an appropriate amount of modified PVA can prepare films with excellent performance, good hydrophilicity, moisture permeability, and insulation properties. When the mass fraction of added PVA is 3%, the prepared films have excellent mechanical properties. Continuing to increase PVA, the mechanical properties of the composite films decrease. Compared with PVC film, modified PVC/PVA composite film has good air permeability, plays a good role in regulating temperature, and has a good effect on insulation and moisture permeability.
