Preparation and Characterization of a Low-Haze Cyclic Block Copolymer/Polyethylene Film
Low haze polyethylene films have a wide range of applications in daily lives as well as in industry and agriculture. In this paper, a low-haze polyethylene/cyclic block copolymer film was prepared, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/cyclic block copolymer poly(vinylcyclohexane)-b-polyethylene-b-poly(vinylcyclohexane) (PVCH-PE-PVCH) blends with different compositions have been investigated. Using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and in situ synchrotron wide-angle diffraction (WAXD) and small-angle scattering (SAXS) as a means of characterization, the compatibility and phase separation behavior of the blended systems were investigated and the optical properties of the materials were tested. The results show that LLDPE is compatible with PVCH-PE-PVCH, smaller amounts of PVCH-PE-PVCH blended into LLDPE do not significantly affect the crystallization temperature, crystallinity and domain spacing of the material. However, there is some influence on the crystal regularity of its blended system. Among them, the optical properties of LLDPE blended film are the most excellent when the PVCH-PE-PVCH mass fraction is 2%.
