Moldflow Analysis and Process Optimization for Injection Molding of Refrigerator Door Storage Box

Moldflow Analysis and Process Optimization for Injection Molding of Refrigerator Door Storage Box

Abstract

Moldflow was used to simulate the injection molding process of the refrigerator door storage box. Two different gate position schemes were compared, the product structure was optimized by increasing the wall thickness, and the best gate position was determined. The simulation of the valve needle hot runner pouring system and cooling system was carried out, and the molding window analysis, filling analysis, warpage deformation analysis, fusion marks and porosity analysis were carried out. Finally, the optimal process combination scheme for the injection mold of the refrigerator door storage box was ultimately determined to be mold temperature of 40 ℃, melt temperature of 220 ℃, and injection molding time of 1.5 s. The warpage deformation analysis results show that the angle effect is the major factor causing the deformation of the opening of the plastic parts, with a deformation amount of 1.5 mm, the warpage deformation amount is 0.6 mm on one side and 1.2 mm on the other side by optimizing the cooling system, which is 60% and 20% lower than the pre-optimized warping deformation, respectively.The process of moldflow analysis and process optimization plan for this product are relatively comprehensive and reasonable, which can provide useful reference for CAE simulation analysis and process optimization of other transparent products with high surface smoothness requirements.
